Kaylan Strong’s Fight Like a Warrior Foundation

Kaylan’s Story

At the heart of our foundation is Kaylan Jean Kuʻumomimakamai "Momi Girl" Haywood, a vibrant, adventurous, and loving 11-year-old girl whose legacy inspires us every day. Kaylan’s life was full of joy—whether she was mastering gymnastics, making slime for friends, or exploring the world alongside her mom. She was a warrior who lived life to the fullest, and her strength continues to guide our mission.

Our why

We are dedicated to being a source of hope and support for families facing the unimaginable challenges of DIPG, while actively contributing to the fight for a cure. Together, we stand by our belief: “No ‘Ohana Fights Alone.”

Vision

Our mission is to raise awareness about DIPG and pediatric brain cancer while providing unwavering support to ‘Ohana throughout the Hawaiian Islands. We are committed to creating a compassionate community where families can find comfort, reliable guidance, and the resources they need every step of the way.

Mission

We are rooted in compassion, guided by firsthand experience, and driven by the belief that every child and family deserves dignity, support, and hope.
